【摘要】:Generalpurposeandmanyspecialtyrubberswillundergoozonecrackingwhenexposedtoozonecontainingatmospheres,whenthetestspecimensoractualuseproductsareunderacertaindegreeoftensilestrain.Certainadditivessuchasantiozonantsandwaxesinhibitorpreventthiscracking.Variousrubbersandrubberformulationscontainingsuchadditivesarecustomarilyevaluatedunderstaticordynamictensilestraininlaboratoryozonechambers.ThisstandardprovidesforanaccurateassessmentoftheozonecontentofsuchchambersusedinTestMethodsD518,D1149,D1171,D3395andISOStandard1431I/II/III.Foradditionalinformationonozoneanalysis,refertoCodeofFederalRegulations;Title40Parts1to51.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthefollowingthreetypesofmethodsforthedeterminationofozonecontentinlaboratorytestchambers.MethodA(UVabsorption)isspecifiedforreferenceorrefereepurposesandasameansofcalibrationforthealternativemethods;MethodB,instrumentaldevice(electrochemicalorchemiluminescence);andMethodC,wetchemicaltechniques(seeAppendixX1).Thesemethodsareprimarilyintendedforusewithtestsfordeterminingrubberozonecrackingresistanceandthusareapplicableovertheozonelevelrangefrom25to200mPa.Note18212;Priorto1978,ozoneconcentrationswereexpressedinASTMD11Standardsinpartsperhundredmillion(pphm)ofairbyvolume.SeeAppendixX2foranexplanationofthechangetopartialpressureinmillipascals(mPa).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,seeNote2and5.1.Note28212;Warningx2014;Ozoneisahazardouschemical.
